Classification of the Spherical Plain Bearings

Radial spherical plain bearings

(1) GE ... E type: It has a single ring outside the shaft bearing and have a groove for lubrication, which can withstand radial loads and smaller loads from axial direction.

 

(2) GE ... ES type: It has outer ring with single slot outer ring with lubrication groove, which can also withstand radial loads and smaller loads in the axial direction.

 

(3) GE ... ES-2RS, GEEW ... ES-2RS: It has the outer ring with single slot outer ring and it also has the groove for lubricating oil as well. It can withstand radial loads and smaller loads in the axial direction.

 

(4) GE ... ESN type: It is also one type of shaft bearing which have the outer ring with single slot and the bearings in GE ... XSN type have outer rings with double slots outer and oil groove for lubricating. Also, the bearings of GE ... XSN type have outer rings with stop grooves, which can withstand radial loads and smaller loads in the axial direction. However, when the load from the axial direction is borne by the stop ring, its ability to withstand the axial load is reduced.

 

(5) GE ... HS type: There are grooves for lubricating in the inner ring and double outer rings in the bearings of GE ... HS type and the clearance of such bearings can be adjusted after wear. Also, this kind of bearings can withstand radial loads and smaller loads in the axial direction.

 

(6) GE ... DE1 type: The inner rings use the materials of hardened steel for bearing and the outer rings use the materials of steel for bearing. It is extruded during assembling of the inner ring and it has grooves for lubricating. Also this kind of radial bearings have bearings with an inner diameter which is less than 15mm and they have no grooves for lubricating. Furthermore, it can withstand radial loads and smaller loads in the axial direction.

 

(7) GE ... DEM1 type: The inner rings use the materials of hardened steel for bearing and the outer rings use the materials of steel for bearing. Also, it will be extruded during assembling of the inner ring and it has grooves for lubricating. After the bearing is installed in the bearing bracket, the groove is pressed out on the outer ring to fix the bearing axially. The bearings of GE ... DEM1 type can also withstand radial loads and smaller loads in the axial direction.

 

(8) GE ... DS type: There are filing slot and grooves for lubrication on the outer ring. Use of the radial bearings in GE ... DS type is limited to bearings in large size, which are able to withstand radial load and small load in the axial direction.

 

 

Angular Contact Spherical Plain Bearings

GAC… S type: Both inner and outer rings both use the materials of hardened steel for bearing, and the outer ring has grooves for lubricating, which can withstand radial load and axial load in one direction.

 

 

Spherical Plain Thrust Bearings

GX ... S type: Materials of shaft and rings are hardened steel and the bearing rings have grooves for lubricating, which are able to withstand axial load or combined load in one direction.
